A pipe bending machine is a specialized piece of machinery used for bending metal pipes. By applying external force, the pipe undergoes plastic deformation at a predetermined angle and shape, bending straight pipes into specific angles (such as 90°, 180°) or complex curves to meet the processing needs of various industries.

In actual operation, pipe bending machines require the coordinated operation of clamps, bending dies, and booster or pressure devices to shape the pipe into complex curves with single or multiple angles. Whether it's exhaust pipes and chassis components in the automotive industry, table and chair frames in the furniture industry, or oil pipelines in the aerospace industry, all require the processing technology of pipe bending machines.

Pipe Bending Machines

Application Areas

01
Manufacturing Industry

Pipe bending machines are widely used for bending automotive fuel lines, brake lines, exhaust pipes, seat frames, crash bars, and air conditioning pipes.

02
Fitness Equipment Industry

Used for bending stainless steel or carbon steel pipes for steel furniture frames, sofa armrests, display racks, fitness equipment frames, and exercise bike handlebars. Pipe bending machines can efficiently complete large-volume bending tasks for furniture pipes, ensuring product consistency and aesthetics.

03
Aerospace and High-End Manufacturing

Key components such as oil pipes and hydraulic lines in the aerospace field have extremely strict requirements for processing precision and cleanliness.

04
Refrigeration and Plumbing

Widely used for on-site or workshop bending of air conditioning refrigeration copper pipes, ventilation ducts, plumbing fittings, and heating devices. Small and medium-sized hydraulic pipe bending machines are particularly common in water and electricity projects and simple metal processing, suitable for small-scale production and temporary construction scenarios.

05
Rail Transportation

Used for processing handrails and structural pipes in ship piping systems and subway and high-speed rail carriages. Hydraulic pipe bending machines, with their powerful bending capabilities, can handle the needs of large-diameter, thick-walled pipes.

Core Features

Sturdy machine bed structure and excellent precision retention. The pipe bending machine adopts a high-quality casting or welded box structure, ensuring a stable bed that is not easily deformed and maintaining good precision over long-term use, providing a solid foundation for high-precision bending processing.
Intelligent control system and simple operation. Modern pipe bending machines generally use a touch screen and CNC module for operation, and program setting is simple and easy.
High-precision forming and good repeatability. The CNC pipe bending machine uses a servo motor to precisely control the feeding and retraction of the carriage, tilting angle rotation, and bending and unbending actions, resulting in high angle repeatability and stable and reliable pipe forming quality.
Powerful and versatile. The hydraulic pipe bending machine uses a hydraulic system as its power source, driving the bending die through a hydraulic cylinder. It has strong power and is suitable for bending large-diameter, thick-walled pipes.

Working principle

Work Process:
01

Fixing the Pipe: First, place the pipe into the bending mold and secure it firmly using a clamping device (such as a jig or chuck) to prevent displacement or shifting during bending. The stability and clamping force of the clamping mechanism directly affect the bending accuracy and the forming quality of the pipe.

02

Applying Bending Force: Utilize a robotic arm, hydraulic cylinder, or servo motor to drive the bending mold, applying continuous pressure to the pipe to bend it around the contour of the mold.

03

Precise Angle Control: Monitor the bending angle in real time using a high-precision encoder, sensor, or CNC system. The force application automatically stops when the bending angle reaches the preset value.

04

Forming and Demolding: After bending is complete, release the pressure, the clamping mechanism retracts, and the formed pipe is removed.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance of pipe bending machines is crucial for maintaining equipment accuracy and extending service life. A regular maintenance system should be established and diligently implemented.

Hydraulic System Maintenance: The hydraulic system is the core power source of the pipe bending machine. Within 1-2 months of initial use, the oil tank and hydraulic filter should be cleaned once, and the inlet filters of each pump should be cleaned. The hydraulic oil temperature should be maintained within the normal range of 25℃-60℃. Daily oil temperature changes should be recorded to promptly identify any abnormalities.

Die Management and Maintenance: The bending die and clamping die are subjected to friction and pressure from the pipe material over a long period, making them prone to wear, deformation, or cracking. They are core vulnerable parts of the pipe bending machine. The outer diameter of the pipe being bent must fit snugly against the groove of the bending die; otherwise, the workpiece will dent or the die will crack.

Lubrication and Transmission Component Maintenance: Wear on the guide rails, sliders, and bearings can cause equipment vibration or positioning deviations. It is recommended to add high-temperature grease (such as lithium-based grease) weekly for lubrication maintenance.

Electrical and Control System Maintenance. The internal dust of the electrical control cabinet needs to be cleaned quarterly to prevent dust accumulation from causing poor heat dissipation or electrical malfunctions. Avoid using the equipment in humid environments to prevent damage to electrical components from moisture.

Daily Inspection and Safe Operation. Before operation, check that the equipment is properly grounded, confirm that the hydraulic system oil level is normal, and ensure that the mold and pipe specifications match. During pipe bending, never put any part of your body into the rotation range of the bending mold to prevent injury. After operation, disconnect the power supply, clean metal debris from the mold and equipment, and keep the equipment clean. During daily inspection, also clean metal debris from the guide rails to ensure smooth equipment operation.
